Race Results from June 15-16, 2013

Well, what a great weekend at the dragway! After a dismal start to the racing season across Atlantic Canada we FINALLY got some dry weather. With the season opener washed-out in May racers were chomping at the bit to get down the track. This was also the first stop on both the ADRA and ACSSA tour so the pits were packed with entrants from all three Maritime Provinces. The sunny skies also brought plenty of spectators out and the stands were full both days. They were not disappointed either with some fantastic racing action.

In Saturday action Tommy Vickery drove his "Half-Cracked" Firebird to victory in the box gamblers race while Clayton Howatt from Charlottetown put his clean 1968 Dodge Dart in the winner's circle in the no box class. In the stock / superstock class it was Liverpool's Jeremy Keans in his G/SA Camaro over Kelly MacKay's H/SA Demon in a great heads-ups final. George Joudrey of Maitland took the win in Sport Compact while Braxton Stafford defeated Dawson Toombs in the final of junior dragster.

Under clear skies on father's day Sunday we reeled off three time sessions and a qualifier without issue; the fields were set for round one with 46 Super Pro, 56 Pro, 22 Sportsman, 16 Bike / Sled, 8 Sport Compact and 16 Junior Dragsters making the call.
